Anthony Edwards credits Karl-Anthony Towns for T-Wolves eliminating Nuggets

Anthony Edwards is never one to bite his tongue. The Minnesota Timberwolves young star has worn his emotion on his sleeve and been outspoken at every turn during the team’s impressive run in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

But after the Timberwolves secured their spot in the Western Conference Finals by winning Game 7 on the road against the defending champions, Edwards was as brutally honest as ever. Specifically, his praise rained down on teammate Karl-Anthony Towns in a moment caught on video and posted by the team’s official account on X.

“Thank KAT, y’all. Thank KAT, y’all. They ain’t have no answer for Karl. Karl the baddest big on the planet,” Edwards said.

There's no denying that Towns deserves his flowers after an impressive series against the Nuggets. Not only did the 28-year-old big man get the job done on the offensive end, but he also played an integral part in guarding Nikola Jokic, seemingly an impossible task. Towns averaged 18.6 points and 9.1 rebounds and shot 51 percent from the field along with 39.4 percent from beyond the arc in the series.

Towns capped off the seven-game stretch by scoring 23 points with 12 rebounds on 57.1 percent shooting from the field in the series-clinching victory on Sunday night.
